作为第31届世界大学生夏季运动会场馆建设中唯一一座仿古建筑体，东安阁照明设计采用巧妙设计手法隐藏灯具，做到“见光不见灯”。灯光下的斗拱更能体现东安阁的不可或缺，犹如画龙点睛，有了更伟大的灵魂。通过屋檐上下亮度变化形成独特的层次感，保证了不同视角的灯光效果；再调整古建筑整体上的亮度，使其成为区域中的核心，进而体现它的宏伟体量与气势，充分体现中国古建筑的造型美，灯光投射到瓦上，给人以素雅，沉稳，古朴，宁静的美感。
